History
Roy Perry 1902-2002
|
Roy founded Treasure Cove in Fort Smith in 1949. He was one of the first dealers for many of the most internationally known detector brands such as Bountyhunter, Whites, and Garrett. He dealt through the years with pretty much any kind of equipment that could be used to locate treasure. Everything from your basic dowsing rods to the most sophisticated metal detectors on the market. Even after he went blind he would continue to work and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and stories of finding treasure with any enthusiast that came through the shop. |
Richard Perry: 1933-2009
 |
Richard, son of founder Roy Perry, helped manage Treasure Cove in addition to owning his own business, Aluminum Products Corporation. After Roy retired Richard took over ownership of the company. In addition to also being an avid detectorist, he also had a great passion for coin collecting. Throughout the years Treasure Cove amassed a large amount of collectible US and foreign coins and currency. He operated the store successfully until he was diagnosed with lung cancer on January 1st 2009 and sadly passed away less than a month later.
